Mix-and-Read, Fluorescence based Protease Activity detection kit. The kit includes protease selective detection reagent, fluorescent dye, reaction buffer, and substrate positive control. Protocol volume can be easily scaled up or down as needed. It is designed for fluorimetric endpoint and kinetic microplate assays. Quantifiable down to nano- and picomolar range of active protease concentrations. Upon activation, se-Red reagent produces detectable fluorescent signal in the far red region of the light spectrum, reducing background signal and increasing dynamic range. Excitation 625-635nm/ Emission 655-665nm.

After ADAM17/TACE, ADAM10 is the major TNF-alpha (tumor necrosis factor alpha) sheddase. It can be either soluble or membrane-bound, and also cleaves Notch receptors, amyloid precursor protein, L-selectin, cadherins, and TGF-alpha (transforming growth factor alpha). Thus it is involved in many important processes and diseases, such as development, inflammation, arthritis, cancer, Alzheimer’s disease, and atherosclerosis.
